Kelly Baird, BCBA, LBA
BHC 40 Under 40 | Class of 2026 | For the Culture
Founder | Black Women in Behavior Analysis Appreciation Day | Atlanta, GA
Kelly Baird is a behavior analyst, builder, and community architect working at the intersection of autism care, equity, and lived experience.
At Universal Health Services and Fiesta Health, she leads across clinical practice and talent development. Beyond her formal roles, she has created platforms like Black Women in Behavior Analysis Appreciation Day, Civil Discourse, and Stride for ABA Awareness, each designed to expand visibility, support, and community within the field.
Her work is not abstract. It is personal, practical, and rooted in the everyday realities of families navigating systems that were never designed with them in mind.
The Journey
Baird describes her path not as a decision, but as a calling that revealed itself over time.
She has always been someone people gravitate toward, particularly those navigating vulnerability, disability, and systemic gaps. That pull evolved into responsibility, and responsibility into purpose.
"And then my son came into my life and clarified everything."
Motherhood reframed her work entirely. It shifted her from advocate to participant, from observer to someone living the system from the inside. That perspective now informs every dimension of how she leads and builds.
What This Recognition Means
For Baird, this recognition is not about the accolade. It is about what it signals.
It represents a shift in who is seen, who is heard, and who is leading. It means that families seeking care will encounter professionals who understand their experience, not just clinically, but culturally and personally.
She also names a harder truth. Even within Black spaces, Black women are often underrecognized.
This moment, for her, is not incidental. It is necessary.
What’s Next
Baird is helping lead the expansion of Fiesta Health’s ABA services across Georgia, building a network that meets families where they are, both in clinics and in homes.
The work is guided by a framework she calls Pillars, designed to ensure that every child, family, clinician, and leader operates in an environment where growth is possible and expected.
"Be extraordinarily intentional about who you allow to mentor you."
Baird’s work reflects a deeper truth about healthcare. Representation is not a bonus. It is foundational to care that actually works.
