Black Health Connect 40 Under 40:

Celebrating Excellence in Healthcare

The Class of 2026

Each year, Black Health Connect honors 40 healthcare leaders under 40 who are actively reshaping the future of the field. The Class of 2026 spans 30 markets and five distinct categories: clinicians changing care at the bedside, scientists building the evidence the next decade depends on, founders and builders creating infrastructure that did not exist before, executives leading institutions from within, and advocates shifting the conversation across community, policy, and culture.

Honorees were nominated by the BHC community and selected for the impact, expertise, and cultural credibility they bring to their work. Together, they represent the next generation of healthcare leadership, as well as the connective tissue of an ecosystem that is being built on its own terms.

The Class of 2026 will be recognized at the Black Health Ball on June 27, 2026, in Baltimore, the BHC Foundation’s flagship gala and the official 40 Under 40 awards ceremony.

Meet the Class.

IN PRACTICE

Honoring the clinicians doing the work, one patient at a time.
The providers in the Pharmacy, OR, the ED, the labor suite, the exam chair, and the clinic. They are in the room when it matters.

Their ordinary days become someone else’s turning point.

AT THE BENCH

Honoring the scientists building the evidence the future of health depends on.
Their work lives upstream of the clinic.
It is deliberate, often invisible, and built over time.

The pace is measured. The impact is generational.

AT THE HELM

Honoring the leaders shaping institutions from the inside.
They move systems forward while navigating them in real time.
They lead with clarity, with intention, and with identity.
Nothing is left at the door.

Banner - FROM THE GROUD UP 16 x 9.png

FROM THE GROUND UP

Honoring the founders, builders, and entrepreneurs who didn’t wait for permission.
They saw the gaps and chose to build anyway.
Infrastructure is not inherited.

It is imagined, tested, and created from scratch.

Banner - FOR THE CULTURE 16 x 9.png

FOR THE CULTURE

Honoring the advocates, organizers, and culture-shifters changing the conversation.
They shape language, shift narratives, and make space where there was none.
They create the conditions that allow the rest of the ecosystem to move.

They make the work legible and possible.
