Naomi Turner, MPH
BHC 40 Under 40 | Class of 2026 | At the Helm
Associate Director of Federal and Corporate Accounts | ViiV Healthcare | New York, NY
Naomi Turner is a public health leader driving impact across education, policy, and HIV care. Her experience spans frontline patient support, regional strategy, and national collaboration, all centered on advancing equitable access to prevention and treatment.
At ViiV Healthcare, she strengthens cross-sector partnerships and works to empower individuals to advocate for themselves within healthcare systems.
The Journey
Turner’s path into healthcare was shaped early by her mother, whose work spanned mental health, substance use services, and housing.
"She instilled in me the importance of supporting community."
Her experience as a medical social worker at Meharry Medical College further deepened that perspective. It exposed her to the realities of structural barriers and allowed her to learn directly from Black physicians and healthcare leaders who influenced her approach to the work.
What This Recognition Means
For Turner, this recognition reflects both the community that shaped her and the purpose that continues to guide her work.
It is something she holds with gratitude, sharing it with those who have mentored and inspired her, as well as the communities she continues to serve.
What’s Next
She is focused on continuing to grow as a partner to health systems and communities working to expand equitable access to life-saving medications.
She is also exploring ways to contribute more broadly to public health beyond her primary role.
"Stay close to the communities you serve and let their needs guide your work."
Turner’s work is grounded in a simple but critical principle. Healthcare must remain connected to the people it is designed to serve.
